I'm at a loss for words for the events of this week, so instead I substitute today with a memory:
My good friend "Grasshopper" and I were shooting the breeze on this fine Sunday evening about his upcoming participation in the UC Davis Relay for Life. (Support his cause!) I'm told there will be girl scouts on the scene "arresting" people of one's choosing (for a fee) and "jailing" them for a certain length of time -- or until someone pays the "bail." All the proceeds, of course, go to the American Cancer Society.
Grasshopper's take on the situation?
"If someone tries that on me, imma throw dirty in their eyes and scream, "you can catch me, coooopppaa!"
At least he's ready. :-)
And, I can tell those girl scouts from personal experience, he is a hard one to chase down. We found ourselves on opposing sides of a game of mafia back in our college days, and on more than one occasion, I found myself in full sprint chasing after this guy near Bunche Hall. We parked outside his classes for a week -- a testament to his stealth and our creepy dedication to the hunt. Friday morning at the week's end, grasshopper gave himself in-- "I have midterms next week. I can't deal with the stress."
This time around though, I expect no yielding --midterms, finals or otherwise. :)
